One of the nicest things about running Noah Ukuleles is hearing from people after they have received their instrument.
When you run a small independent business, you get to know your customers in a very different way from a large retailer. I often speak to people before they buy, helping them decide which size or model might suit them, discussing different strings or setups, and sometimes helping with more unusual requirements.
Then, a few days or weeks later, an email or review arrives telling me what they think of their new ukulele.
I genuinely appreciate every one.
So, as we get further into 2026, I thought it would be nice to share a few of the comments Noah Ukuleles has received this year.
I won’t be naming the customers, but all of the comments below come from genuine reviews left on the Noah website or Google.
It’s about more than just buying a ukulele
One of the things that has particularly pleased me about this year’s reviews is that customers haven’t only commented on the instruments themselves.
Of course, it’s fantastic to hear that someone loves the sound of their new Noah. That’s ultimately what matters most.
But customers have also mentioned the advice they’ve received before buying, the setup of their instrument, communication, packaging and delivery.
Those things are really important to me because I don’t see my job as simply putting a ukulele in a box and sending it out.
I want to make sure that the person buying it has chosen an instrument that’s right for them.
Finding the right ukulele
One of the 2026 Google reviews came from a customer who bought a Noah Super Tenor after discussing exactly what they were looking for with me:
“After consulting Matt about my wishes he recommended me this model and the sound is just what I was looking for.”
That’s particularly satisfying to read.
There are quite a few different ukulele sizes and models available today, and it isn’t always easy to know which one will suit you simply by looking at photographs and specifications online.
That’s why I’m always happy to talk to customers before they buy. Sometimes a few questions about how you play, the sound you’re looking for, your previous instruments or even the size of your hands can make the decision much easier.
The same thing came through in a review of the Noah 5 String Tenor earlier this year. One customer explained that, after researching for hours, they contacted me to discuss buying a Noah. They were really pleased with the help and advice they received throughout the process.
Another 5 String Tenor customer mentioned that they needed a ukulele with a wider fingerboard, and said the Noah fitted the bill perfectly. They went on to say they were delighted with both the build quality and the sound.
These are exactly the sorts of things I like to help with.
The sound is what it’s all about
Naturally, sound is one of the most common themes in the reviews.
A 2026 review of the Noah Rosewood Spruce Tenor described the sound as “lovely, pure and ringing”, while also mentioning the comfortable action, craftsmanship and the fact that the instrument fitted the customer’s budget. This was their first ukulele, having previously played guitar.
The 5 String Tenor has also received some lovely feedback this year. One customer described its tone as beautiful and mellow, while another said it had exactly the sound they were looking for.
And then there is the Noah Tenor X.
A customer who received one in March described it as a beautiful instrument with a great sound, while also mentioning the fast delivery and quality of service.
These comments mean a lot because sound is so personal. What one player loves isn’t necessarily what another player is looking for.
That’s why I try to offer a range of instruments with different woods, sizes and tonal characteristics rather than suggesting that there is one “best” ukulele for everyone.
Handmade quality and value
Another theme that comes up repeatedly is the combination of handmade construction and price.
One of the Google reviews this year said:
“The ukuleles are of the highest quality and now take pride of place in my small collection.”
The same customer went on to say they had no hesitation in recommending Noah Ukuleles to anyone looking for a good-priced, handmade ukulele.
That’s something I’m really proud of.
Noah ukuleles are handmade by skilled luthiers, using solid tonewoods and traditional construction methods. Every instrument is individually checked and set up before it leaves the workshop.
I’m very conscious that buying a handmade instrument can represent a significant investment. My aim has always been to offer the best value I can without compromising on the things that matter: the materials, craftsmanship, sound and playability.
It’s therefore particularly rewarding when customers notice that combination.
Getting the setup right
Setup is another part of the service that can sometimes be overlooked when buying an instrument online.
One of this year’s Google reviewers specifically mentioned how important setup was to them:
“Setup is very important for me, because I have no clue how to change it nor do I know any luthier: setup was perfect for me, it is very easy to play.”
That’s exactly what I want to hear.
A beautiful ukulele isn’t much use if it’s difficult or uncomfortable to play.
Every Noah instrument is checked before leaving the workshop and then again by me before posting to make sure it arrives ready to play.
And sometimes that means going a little further than a standard setup.
For example, one of the Super Tenor reviews this year came from a left-handed player. The customer specifically mentioned the service they received in getting the instrument set up for left-handed playing and said the ukulele was a delight to play.
Those are the sorts of details that can make a big difference to someone’s experience with a new instrument.
It’s also about the experience of buying
Another thing that comes through in the 2026 reviews is that customers appreciate the service surrounding the instrument.
One Google reviewer who has now purchased two Noah ukuleles mentioned that both arrived promptly and were very well packaged. They also appreciated being kept informed about their orders and described my service as helpful and courteous.
The same review finished by saying:
“I have no hesitation in recommending Noah Ukuleles to anyone looking to buy a good priced, hand made ukulele.”
That’s a lovely thing to hear from someone who has bought from me twice.
The Tenor X has also received positive comments this year about fast delivery and careful packaging, with one customer in Northern Ireland mentioning that their ukulele arrived within two days and praising both its quality and sound.
For an independent business, these things matter.
I might not be able to compete with a huge online retailer in terms of size or buying power, but I can make sure that customers receive a personal service and that their instrument is checked carefully before it leaves me.
A few more words from Noah players
There are plenty of other lovely comments from 2026 that are difficult to fit into one article.
A customer reviewing the Noah 8 String Tenor described its tone as beautiful, praised the build quality and mentioned how comfortable it was to play at a music session.
The Tenor X has been described this year as “absolutely beautiful”, with customers commenting on its sound, quality and the speed of delivery.
And the 5 String Tenor has received comments about its build quality, value for money, sound and suitability for players who need a little more room across the fingerboard.
It’s especially nice to see comments from both experienced players and people who are relatively new to the ukulele.
A good instrument should be enjoyable whether you’ve been playing for twenty years or you’re picking up your first proper ukulele.
Why reviews mean so much to a small business
This is perhaps the most important part of this post.
Reviews really do make a difference to a small business.
When someone searches for a ukulele online, they might come across Noah Ukuleles for the first time. They don’t know me, they don’t know the workshop and they may never have seen or played a Noah instrument before.
Buying an instrument online involves a degree of trust.
Customer reviews help provide that reassurance.
They’re also much more useful to a potential customer than simply reading me telling them that my ukuleles sound good or offer excellent value. Of course I’m going to say nice things about the instruments!
Hearing from someone who has actually bought one is different.
A customer can talk about how the instrument feels in their hands, what it sounds like, how easy it is to play, how it compares with instruments they already own and what the buying experience was like.
That’s why I really do appreciate every person who takes the time to leave a review.
