First off, thank you very much for reading this and I’d like to send my very best wishes for the year ahead to everyone 🙂
2021 – new products and new endorsees!
Last year was another extremely busy year – first I welcomed the wonderful Hedge Inspectors as the latest Noah Ukuleles endorsees. I’ve enjoyed watching Mike and Caroline’s performances at various festivals over the years and so I was delighted to add them to the growing list of Noah endorsees. We did a special ‘vegan build’ for them and if you missed the full details of this first time around, you can read more about it here.
Over the years, I’ve always tried my best to expand the Noah range and after a lot of requests, added an 8 string concert. This was reviewed by Barry Maz on Got A Ukulele in February 2021, receiving 9/10 for value for money and lots of lovely comments.
Another new instrument in the Noah range was the Super Tenor which arrived in October 2021. This was also reviewed on Got A Ukulele and achieved the highest score of any Noah instrument! Barry Maz described it as “… my absolute favourite Noah yet and an absolute steal of a price for what you are getting”.
As some of you might know, from time to time we do take on custom ukulele requests. One such request was made by Steve Vernals. He asked for a Sunburst baritone with a cutaway and fishman pickup. He also specified which woods he’d like, the nut width, the style of headstock and a pin bridge. He was very happy with the end result and wrote a double-page review of it which was published in the December issue of Uke Magazine.
” If you are looking to buy a baritone, or in fact any other size ukulele I would definitely recommend you taking a look at Noah Ukuleles… It’s amazing value for a hand-made, luthier built, all solid wood ukulele”
What’s coming in 2022?
We are currently very busy in the workshop building more ukuleles which I expect to be available from the beginning of April. The 8 string ukuleles will be available again in concert, tenor and baritone sizes, and we are building more of the Super Tenors which have been so popular. There is also a new model – a long necked concert – so watch this space for updates on that!
One thing which I am very excited about this year (and I know a lot of you are too!) is the return of Ukulele festivals. Before Covid, I used to attend lots of festivals every year, and it was a great way to showcase my ukuleles and get instant feedback from ukulele players around the country.
I’ve already agreed to have a stall at Winchester Ukulele Festival on Saturday June 11th which has already been a lovely event with an strong line-up of performers – and this year looks no different from that.
Hopefully, I will be able to attend some others around the country and very much look forward to seeing lots of you there 🙂
