“I’ve been reviewing Noah ukuleles since they first appeared on the market and they are another brand that simply listen and get better with each new iteration. When it comes to design, build quality and tone this one just combines them all in the right way for my tastes.

I’m struggling to find major fault with things here and think I just discovered my absolute favourite Noah yet.  I also think this is a steal of a price for what you are getting considering other brands at this price point. I’d happily have this in my arsenal and it comes very highly recommended.”

Barry Maz from Got A Ukulele in his review of the Noah Super Tenor in October 2021.

Description

The Noah Super Tenor offers players a powerful, full-bodied sound while retaining the familiar feel of a standard tenor ukulele. With a traditional 17-inch tenor-scale neck paired with a larger baritone-sized body, this model delivers added depth, richness and projection — all while maintaining standard GCEA tuning. It’s an excellent choice for players seeking more volume and tonal presence without moving away from the classic ukulele setup.

This model features the timeless tonewood combination of Mahogany back and sides with a Spruce top, providing a warm foundation complemented by bright clarity and definition. Visually, it’s enhanced by refined details such as a slotted headstock, pin bridge and a comfortable wider 39mm nut width.

The body is finished in a high-gloss coat, offering a sleek and striking appearance, while the satin-finished neck ensures a smooth, comfortable playing experience. Decorative touches include abalone inlay around the soundhole, along with further abalone detailing paired with Indian Rosewood for the edge binding.

Received my Super Tenor yesterday.Superb uke…Great sound and tone. I put a Low G on…brilliant.
    Thanks Matt

Well I have my super tenor. And it is super.
The jangle of a uke ( when needed) added to the depth, the shimmer and the sustain of a baritone, all with the neck length of a tenor . The sound positively rings . I have kept it high G as I have a baritone and a very high end tenor . This uke combines the best of both and , come on, an all solid , handmade uke for under £300? My second Noah uke for the best of reasons

I’ve now had my new Noah Super Tenor for about 3 weeks now and well worth the wait from placing my order, WOW, I love it, this one was my 2nd Uke from Matt, the first being the Noah Monkypod Tenor which again is just awesome and a joy to play, but different to the Super Tenor, with the Super Tenor the neck is slightly thicker in depth and the sound due to the baritone body, I usually play them both on a session. So what’s next ? Well Defiantly another Noah, I do fancy one with a cutout, lets see what Matt brings with him to The GNUF !!

    Hi
I received my Noah Super Tenor Ukulele last week as an early birthday present to myself. It arrived really quickly and was well packaged. It is a gorgeous looking instrument that plays beautifully with a deep rich tone. The finish is excellent with no sharp fret wires sticking out and lovely abalone trim. I am blown away by the quality of this instrument for the price I paid and so tempted to buy another ukulele from the Noah range but in the meantime I’ll just enjoy the Super Tenor.

I’m a novice at playing a ukulele and with no musical experience started with a Soprano 6 months ago, I’m absolutely hooked and decided to go for an upgrade on my current uke. Ordered the Noah Super Tenor and so pleased with it, delivery was quick just a few days the Super Tenor looks beautiful and feels great. I cannot fault it at all and now practicing every spare minute to do it justice.

I’ m a guitar player and was looking for an easy transition to ukulele. The Super Tenor fits the bill nicely. It looks fantastic, sounds mellow but still bright and crisp. Very pleased with my purchase as the instrument clearly is of high quality, The service from Matt was friendly and professional.

The Super Tenor is a wonderful ukulele that will meet all of your needs. The ukulele gets a 10/10 from me and is always the choice ukulele when running the ukulele circle. The big sound is great for others to follow with ease. That’s 2 Noah uses in the collection and there’s room for more…

I have had my super tenor for 6 months now and it has been an absolute joy. Have been playing uke for 5 years and can really appreciate the wonderful warmth of tone and sustain that it produces. It is definitely my go to uke for finger style. Have strung it with a wound low G.

I bought this Ukulele from Matt 3 weeks ago and I absolutely love the build quality, the appearance, the sweet sounds, the feel and basically everything about it. I only started playing Ukulele a few months ago and hadn’t heard of the Noah brand until I saw a friend had one of the Monkeypod Ukes. I then found the fantastic Barry Maz reviews on YouTube and couldn’t wait to get one for myself.
I’m now looking forward to getting another Noah Ukulele for my birthday, possibly a Concert size but at the moment I’m finding it hard to decide which one to go for so I’ll get in touch with Matt…..Many thanks again Matt for all your help.

Super Tenor Ukulele received first thing this morning Matt and I have to say fabulous! it plays so well straight from being unpacked, the build quality is far better than I ever expected.
It’ll compliment my Noah Concert nicely and make my little group very jealous.
Just one other thing which I thought showed great attention to detail the gig bag is great quality so much better than the insipid plastic things that you usually get with other brands.
Thanks again Matt – very Happy.

Received my Super Tenor this Wednesday strung in low G and I haven’t put it down since. It is a beautifully crafted instrument with a wonderful warm voice.
Thank you so much Matt, and thanks to Baz Maz for his fantastic review on Got a Ukulele which influenced my purchase.

  14. Richard

Really pleased with my new Super Tenor which is now my favourite uke.
The build quality is a very high standard and the sound is lovely.
    Thanks Matt.

I heard good reports of Noah ukulele’s from people in our uke group and so after much research, decided to purchase the Super Tenor. My previous experience is playing on mass built ukes, and I’ve been playing for around 5 years now so wanted to try out a hand built uke. I wasn’t disappointed! This is a beautiful sounding instrument and I’ve found playing it (particularly barre chords) much easier than my mass built tenor. So pleased with the sound and finish of the instrument and cannot recommend more highly. Also, good communication with Matt. Thank you!

Received my new Super Tenor about a week ago. The quality and workmanship involved are top class. Playability and sound quality are excellent. My expectations have not just been met, they have surely been exceeded. I am more than confident that I will enjoy playing this uke for many years to come. Thank you.

I’ve had my Super Tenor for about four weeks now and what a beautiful instrument it is. It just feels special and sits perfectly into the body. Matt set my super tenor to suit a lefty which included a pick-up, which I’m yet to play around with but I’m currently on my third set of strings trying to get the sound I wanted. (Worth Brown low g). I’m thinking of trying Clears at some stage just to see if they can out perform the Browns, but if not, I’m still very happy.
As a novice I liked the idea of a better instrument to play on, as well as a wider nut and a louder sound. Both score 10’s.
When played this Uke sings, and the extra sustain is a joy.
I could go on but suffice to say this is going to last me a long time and has ended my search for the perfect ukulele.

    Long story … short.
After experimenting with low G on an older concert ukulele, I realised just how much potential the tuning had — but also how much that particular instrument was holding me back. With two Noah ukuleles already in my collection, the next step felt obvious.
Browsing the range of Tenors and Baritones, the Super Tenor immediately caught my attention. Barry Maz’s review and a few reassuring emails with Matt sealed the deal, and I placed my order.
Now that I’ve spent time with the Super Baritone (restrung with Worth Browns), I can honestly say I’m thrilled. The sound is rich and expressive, the craftsmanship is exceptional, and the attention to detail is far beyond what you’d expect at this price point. It’s hard to believe a handmade instrument of this quality is so accessible.
What I love most is its versatility. If the low G novelty ever fades, a quick switch back to high G transforms it into a completely different instrument.
If you’re looking for something a little different — something inspiring — the Noah Super Tenor deserves serious consideration.

I heard about Noah Ukuleles on a review by Baz on gotaukulele.com. This is my first ‘proper’ Ukulele and I was looking foe one suitable for my big fingers. The review was very positive, but what sold me was the sound. I thought if this instrument sounded that good having be ‘squashed’ through electronics then when hearlive it must be good. I have not been disappointed. Add to this that the Noahs are handmade the quality speaks for itself. I have to say Matt’s service is excellent even when setting it up for a left handed beginner like me. Thanks Matt

As a beginner to this instrument I was looking for my first Ukulele which had to be big enough for my large fingers. I came across Barry’s site gotaukulele.com, he was reviewing a Noah Super Tenor and was giving an extremely positive review. It seemed like just what I was looking for. However, what sold it for me was the sound. I thought if it can sound that good having been compressed by electronic circuitry, then live it must me good, so I bought one. I have not been disappointed, it is a delight to play even to my beginners low standards, so as, and when I get proficient I think it will sound even better. Matt’s service is good too, down to sorting it out for a left hander like me. In my humble opinion, Noah’s are good value for money and handmade too. Thanks Matt
