Description
The Noah Delta Concert ukulele is crafted from premium all-solid woods, featuring an Indian rosewood body and a spruce top for a rich, resonant tone. The reason behind the name ‘Delta’ is that I really wanted a model which gave a nod to Vietnam and the area in which they are made. The Mekong Delta is such an important part of Vietnamese life and culture, and is not far from where I lived and not far from where our head luthier, Mr Anh, lives. The boat trip I took on the Mekong Delta in my first weeks after arriving in Vietnam is still one of the best things I’ve ever done, and so with all of that considered, Delta, felt like a good choice!
In terms of decoration, we’ve gone for a less is more approach and let the woods be the main event – so maple bindings, an inlaid Indian Rosewood soundhole rosette and we’ve left the fretboard blank (but with side dot markers to indicate fret position). There’s a bound side sound hole to project part of the sound towards the player, while friction tuners offer vintage-style precision. The ukulele’s 37mm nut width provides comfortable finger spacing, ideal for intricate playing. Equipped with a bone nut and saddle, this instrument delivers excellent intonation and sustain and think is a great choice for musicians seeking a blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern design elements.
