I just keep going back to that price as the tone here is punching WELL above the ticket price. It’s a lovely balanced sound…This is a fitting model to mark Noah’s ten year anniversary I think – a great looking, characterful sounding ukulele for not a lot of money at all. Very highly recommended!

Description

2023 marked the 10 year anniversary of Noah Ukuleles!

To celebrate this milestone, I decided that I wanted to add a special model to the Noah range. The question was though – what should it be?

A couple of years ago Mr Anh, the head luthier at Noah Ukuleles, built me a quite incredible acoustic guitar that I absolutely love and is by far my favourite instrument which I’ve ever owned. When trying to decide on what kind of model to do for the 10th anniversary, the idea of trying to replicate the design features of this guitar in ukulele form kept coming back to me… so in the end, that was what I went for.

It has the classic wood combination of Indian Rosewood back and sides, paired with a Spruce top, giving it a lovely bright tone which responds really well to both strumming and finger-picking.

The body has a striking florentine cutaway, which will appeal to players who enjoy utilising the frets higher up the neck where it meets the body. There is a small side-mounted soundhole – this is something that you might have seen on other ukuleles and acoustic guitars and the reasoning behind it is that it allows some of the sound to be directed towards you. If you’re playing in a large group, this would be very useful in enabling you to better hear what you are playing!

Some other nice design features are the angled bridge, often seen on high-end acoustic guitars, and the beveled armrest. I have to admit that before owning my guitar, I wasn’t convinced about the need for a beveled armrest – but now I’m a big advocate! It basically removes the sharp edge at the point where you would rest your picking arm, and is extremely comfortable, particularly if you’re playing for a long period of time.

This is my first Noah bought thanks to the recommendation from Got A Ukulele.
It arrived with a slight problem with one of the bridge pins but this was speedily and efficiently dealt with by Matt. A lovely instrument to play and sounds great.

Just purchased my first Noah, a TenorX. The Luthier hand built quality is quite superb and it looks and feels fantastic. With a low G tuning the sound is absolutely gorgeous and seems to resonate in the body forever. Had I paid twice the price I would still have felt that I had got excellent value for money. Can only strongly recommend. Originally seen on Got A Ukulele

Just received my Tenor X.Superbly packaged.

I’ve given it a go and am really pleased with the tone and ease of using a broader neck.

Once again the craftsmanship is second to none.

I look forward to many happy hours practicing and playing.

Keep up the good work and pass on my thanks and appreciation to the workshop of Tom That Ahn for their skill in making such a beautiful instrument.

If, like me, your Uke playing doesn’t seem to improve much, I’ve found the answer! Get yourself a top quality, handmade, superior instrument, and your playing will start to ‘lift off’ simply because you’ll enjoy playing it and will not want to put it down! It’s happened to me and my great Noah Tenor X. Highly recommended. Thanks Matt.

I recently bought a tenor X strung in high G to compliment my super tenor strung in low G. I now have the best of both worlds and the sound port on the side of the bout allows me to hear my own instrument better when playing in a group. I
    Another very happy costumer Matt.

I can’t add much that hasn’t already been said. My Tenor X is one of the loviest ukulele that on the market and well worth the purchase price. Thank you Matt.

I bought mine in the busy noisy hall at Cheltenham Festival. Perhaps not the ideal place to buy a uke, although the choice was enormous. Certainly well made, but as I got to play it I found the tone ‘polite’, to coin a phrase. I think that may be because I wanted an electro, and the pick-up etc must affect the reverberation in the body. It may also be the Aquila strings. I followed Paul Mansell’s advice to ‘try different strings’ and fitted Fremont Black Line. They are now settling in but the character has changed already, more projection and a vintagey tone. It will get a proper amplified testing at our u3a Christmas dinner, and I look forward to a developing relationship with it.
