Uke to Bridge is a fantastic Facebook group which I believe was set up by Noah Ukuleles endorsee Matt Hicks. Here’s a brief description of what exactly it is:
” Welcome to Uke to Bridge. The safest place to explore strange new worlds with your little instrument. Each month or so there will be a competition that anyone can enter. A theme will be the set for the duration of the competition and a judge / panel of judges will be nominated. All you have to do is submit a video showing you performing your song in line with the competition criteria”.
Since the group was set up, there have been some great themes each month and lots of wonderful entries submitted. Everyone in the group is very supportive and enouraging, and I think it’s a great place to get feedback on your performance / songs and also be inspired by others.
I’m very excited to say that I’ve been given the honour of setting the theme for November’s competition, and after seeing that ‘punk’ has already been done, I decided to go for ‘sounds of the 60s’. It was undoubtedly a wonderful decade for music, with lots of iconic artists emerging, along with some of the best songs ever written. So, if you feel like taking part, join the group and submit your entry by November 30th and you’ll be in with a chance of winning a Noah Monkeypod Concert ukulele!
