Earlier this year, I asked if anyone would be interested in a custom build. One person who got in touch was Mike Sinclair, asking about the possibility of a Noah Slimline Tenor.
Fast forward around seven months and it was lovely to see Mike and Rosie Sinclair in September, as Mike collected his new custom built uke.
His uke is handmade from Monkeypod and Spruce woods. Monkeypod, which is known for its striking grain pattern and delicate tonal qualities, brings a real warmth to the sound of this uke. Paired with a Spruce top, you get a lovely blend of clarity and projection, making it a great option for tenor players.
What really sets this model apart from any other Noah which we’ve made up until now is its slimline design. With a thinner body than traditional tenor ukes, it’s much lighter, and more comfortable, but doesn’t compromise on either tone or projection. This slimmer profile also makes it comfortable to hold and play for longer periods, and also the perfect travel companion!
Whether you’re an experienced player or just getting started, this tenor uke offers a great mix of craftsmanship, sound quality and comfort. If you’re looking for a new ukulele which delivers big sound in a sleek, easy-to-handle package, this might be just the uke for you.
Here’s what Mike had to say about his new Slimline tenor
‘I’m so glad that I did ask. This ukulele is an absolute beauty. I’ve been a lover of slimline ukuleles for ages. I’ve also had soprano, concert and tenor Noahs. Now the slimline tenor Noah gives me both in one package. It was great collecting it from you the other day. A dream come true to hold and play it. Thank you Matt’ .
